A Pirates Dinner Adventure Birthday Extravaganza

2
This post is brought to you by our sponsors at The Pirates Dinner Adventure Buena Park!

Each year I give my children the choice of where to have their birthday party. Edison just turned 8 and he wanted to have his party at the Pirates Dinner Adventure, and boy did we have fun! The venue is in Buena Park, CA on Beach Blvd. I couldn’t believe I had never considered what a great venue this would be for a birthday party. They have a few great package options, or you can add things that you want a la carte style.

We chose the a la carte style option for our Pirates Dinner Adventure party. We wanted Captains Seating (seats in the third row, and I think the best seats in the house!), a photo package, some fun goodies for the kids to wear (the ‘complete pirate kit – bandana, flag, and beads) and his own special birthday announcement.

When we first arrived at 5.30 we were amazed at how many people were already there waiting outside. Then they opened the doors, and we got to see inside. No wonder people wanted to make the most of the time before the show. Pirates Dinner Adventure has a full bar that serves beer, wines, cocktails, sodas and slushie drinks.

Many of the drinks come with a fun souvenir glass, and I am a sucker for a souvenir glass! My cocktail was delicious. While we drank our cocktails and enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff bought appetizers around. We enjoyed open ham and cheese sandwiches, mac n cheese bites, mozzarella sticks, fried cheese balls and more. YUM! This was a great way to keep hungry kids entertained – excellent move Pirates Dinner Adventure!

Then it was time for the pre show.

The Pirates Dinner Adventure pre show basically explains what the background to the story is. Make sure to look up to watch pirates zip lining across the room! The kids thought it was so cool to watch the pirates flying through the air.

Walking into the rooms where the show takes place is impressive. The kids were wowed by the huge pirate ship and all the pirates were walking around in character which was so fun! Once everyone was seated it was time for the Pirates Dinner Adventure main show, and it was AMAZING.

Here’s what Pirates Dinner Adventure have to say about their BRAND NEW show:

Step into our brand new adventure and experience a taste of the pirate’s life!

Ahoy there! A missive for you has come from the Royal Chamberlain: you and your family are to be guests of Princess Anita and return to the ship for a celebration on the open seas! A blessing has come to the princess in the form of a magical mermaid and your presence is requested at once to commemorate the event! A bountiful feast and many royal treats await you on the Galleon. Prepare yourself for a night of revelry and mirth. That’s right, Pirates Dinner Adventure has concocted a new spectacle in their world-renowned interactive theater. Now, as with all good fortune, what glimmers on the surface may tell a different story below. Secrets of the Deep is an action-packed evening of fun and adventure. You will be entertained with an astonishing display of special effects, death defying stunts, beautiful aerial artistry, swashbuckling sword play, and a classic story of good vs. evil.

During the show, we were served dinner. Adults had soup or salad, chicken and shrimp with mashed potato and veg, and then cake. Kids have the option of soup or salad, followed by nuggets, mash, fruit and mac n cheese, then cake. The food was surprisingly good and the singing and swishing of our drink cups made us all feel like real pirates!

As it was Edison’s birthday, at the start of the show I took him to say hi to the orange pirate. When he found out it was his birthday he asked if he’d like a special role in the show. This truly made his day. He had his own personal announcement which was heard loud and clear. Then later he got to go onto the Pirate Ship.

Take about birthday dreams coming true!!

Pirates Dinner Adventure finale

Our children were chosen to lead the finale of the Pirates Dinner Adventure show which they absolutely loved. Pretty sure they felt like celebrities, and their beaming little faces were super cute!!

Viv Jones
I am Viv, stay at home mom (mummy) to Edison who is 7 and Arlo who is 5. I am married to my best friend and university sweetheart Steve. In October 2014 we moved 5321 miles from our beautiful Victorian home in Sheffield, England to Anaheim Hills and are loving the wild adventure this move has turned our life into. I am so very grateful that this move has given me the opportunity to quit my kinder teacher role to stay home with my crazy whirlwinds and enjoy the adventures of modern motherhood. I love farmers markets with my little foodies, antique shops, restoring antique finds, reading, baking, eating out and trying not to spend everything we have in Target! Oh and chips. I LOVE chips (crisps for any Brits reading this). All the chips.

  1. I would love for my daughter to be able to give this to her step son. He’s Turing 11 next month. He comes on the weekends so this would be perfect. Looks like so much fun, thank you for posting pictures. How amazing it is inside,
