How To Use Mental Shifts To Speak More Confidently

0

Learning to use mental shifts can help you speak with more confidence.

Many people ask Jessica how she has overcome her fear of public speaking – and the answer may not be what you think.

Our experiences shape us, and they can also create negative thoughts that bleed into our confidence as speakers.  However, learning to mentally shift those experiences and negative thoughts is possible AND will boost your confidence when speaking.

1.Don’t Allow Yourself To Fall Victim To Your Experiences.

If the experiences that you had do not make you better, then do not rely on those experiences or thoughts to shape your next experience. Perhaps your very first public speaking opportunity did not go as planned and you weren’t as confident as you had hoped.  Do not allow yourself to believe that this is the way it will always be.

If you feel like you are stuck in a rut and things won’t improve – start to practice mental shifts.  Acknowledge that you have had negative experiences surrounding public speaking. It is okay to allow yourself to feel those feelings.  However, once you acknowledge them, you need to reframe them.  You can reframe them by separating yourself from those negative experiences.  By making these mental shifts you will see a boost in your confidence.

3. You Have To Want It mental shift

It’s the truth about most of life, you have to want a change to take place in order for that change to take place.  You truly have to want to separate yourself from negative experiences. Continue to practice mental shifts.  You have to want to improve your confidence as a speaker.  Your brain is capable of SO much if you just allow it to do what it was made to do.

Make those mental shifts, boost your confidence, and just wait and see how much you can improve.
