The Love Story Of How Mummy Met Daddy

An Alternative Love Story!

To my 2 little whirlwinds, I am going to tell you a kind of love story. It is a true story of how I met your Daddy.

It’s been 16 years since the first time I saw him, at a night club in Birmingham during our first week of University. This is how the story of how mummy met daddy begins…

We were 18 when we met. He was fun and handsome. And drunk.

He was the only person I knew who could drink 10 pints of beer and then fall asleep in a loud nightclub, but somehow that didn’t put me off!

We were at University together and he became my best friend even though he wore the ugliest shoes I have ever seen.

We got the bus to lectures together, we ate bucket loads of pizza and Chinese food, we watched movies in bed, we were inseparable a lot of the time. We even lived across the road from each other. You see, we had a special bond. We did everything together. Our friends all knew long before we did, that we would be together forever.

Our love story was just beginning!

Daddy didn’t realise right away that he loved me, but I knew I loved him.

He made me laugh in a way nobody else ever had, he knew how to calm me when I was stressed and what to say when I was sad. Finally one day he realised he loved me and that was that. He took his time to realise, but once he did we couldn’t stand to be apart. I moved from Birmingham to Sheffield, we got engaged then we got married and had you two. Our family is complete now and we are on the biggest adventure we will ever take.

I hope when you look at me and Daddy we show you what real love is. It is beautiful but it is also something that takes work. It isn’t something you can give up on. It isn’t always easy but this man I married, your Daddy, is the most amazing person I know.

He is exactly the kind of man I hope you will both grow into. Learn from him. He knows his stuff! One day I hope you have your own love story to tell. Just don’t drink as much beer as he used to 🙂

I am Viv, stay at home mom (mummy) to Edison who is 7 and Arlo who is 5. I am married to my best friend and university sweetheart Steve. In October 2014 we moved 5321 miles from our beautiful Victorian home in Sheffield, England to Anaheim Hills and are loving the wild adventure this move has turned our life into. I am so very grateful that this move has given me the opportunity to quit my kinder teacher role to stay home with my crazy whirlwinds and enjoy the adventures of modern motherhood. I love farmers markets with my little foodies, antique shops, restoring antique finds, reading, baking, eating out and trying not to spend everything we have in Target! Oh and chips. I LOVE chips (crisps for any Brits reading this). All the chips.
