Top 10 Trader Joe's Fall Must Haves

A “Hello Pumpkin” sign greets me as I enter my local Trader Joe’s. My nostrils are met with the smell of those cinnamon brooms, my excitement that fall items are in stock overtakes my body, and I am filled with adrenaline to see ALL the things pumpkin, cinnamon, maple, and apples. I will be honest, I wanted to put all of the new seasonal items in my cart, but I had to show restraint to only buy what I knew I would actually eat. I have compiled this awesome list Trader Joe’s fall must haves (plus some tips how to eat them besides eating it from a spoon right out of the jar).

Top 10 Trader Joe’s Fall Must Haves (in no particular order):

#1 – Maple Butter

As if you need more explanation, it is 100% maple syrup that has been whipped to seem like butter. I know that many will just open the jar and eat with a spoon because it’s congealed into a butter-like form in a jar. This allows for more uses like spreading/slathering it on toasted bread or adding spoonfuls to your morning coffee.

Also this can be used on top of roasted sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, squash, or as a glaze with roasted carrots. Or on top of a warm bowl of cream of wheat or oatmeal on a chilly morning. Think about it on top of warm corn bread with a hot bowl of chili. Add it to soy sauce marinade in place of honey or sugar.

Cinnamon Bun Spread, another opportunity to eat this straight from the jar with a spoon. Use a spoonful in your coffee, drizzle on top of ice cream and vanilla cake.

(As I was writing this I became hungry, so I had to stop and make myself a warm bowl of pumpkin butternut squash bisque.)

#2 – Pumpkin Bisque

Well that is a great intro to the pumpkin butter squash bisque. I paired it with two slices of whole wheat sourdough toast. The sage gave it a slight nutty taste and half of the container was a perfect amount for a small late night dinner.

#3 – Fall Leaf Corn Tortilla Chips

Speaking of pumpkin bisque, it would be yummy in a thermos with a sandwich and these cute tortilla leaf chips too. Boom! Lunch is made for tomorrow!

#4 – Organic Pumpkin Spice Granola Bark (Gluten Free)

This layered snack was a mouthful of flavors and crunch. I found that I only needed to eat a few squares and I was full. Sometimes when I eat “snacks” I eat the whole bag and then wonder what happened to it. This is not the case with this. It took me nearly 2 weeks to eat through the whole bag. There were about maybe 12 squares in the bag. Layers of oats, chocolate, pumpkins seeds and salt made this a tasty nutritious snack.

#5 – Pumpkin Spice Coffee Pods

This coffee tastes like coffee, until I added maple oak milk, but what I wanted to share was the packaging. There is a resealable bag to keep your pods fresh and these for more environmentally friendly with less plastic pod packaging. Little steps like this are helping us be more conscious of our environment.
