2 Ingredients, 1 Slow-Cooker And Countless VariationsAh, the slow-cooker.

Since it’s debut in 1940, families have been enjoying the ease of “Set it and Forget it.” Saving time while still providing a home-cooked meal.

If you’re on Pinterest then you know that there so many slow-cooker recipes, but if we’re being honest, most slow-cooker recipes are just different variations of the same types of ingredients.

Here’s how you (basically) do it:

Ingredients:

Meat – Beef Roast, Chicken Breasts or Pork Loin

Sauce – Enchilada, Simmer Sauces, Salsa, Pasta or you can even consider using soups like Tomato or Cream of Mushroom

Directions:

  1. Place meat in slow-cooker
  2. Pour the sauce over meat
  3. Cover and set to 8 hours on low. If you will be gone longer than 8 hours that is okay too.
  4. When preparing to serve you can shred the meat in the slow-cooker or in a bowl, whichever you prefer and feel free to use any neat meat shredding techniques you saw on YouTube.
  5. Serve with any accouterments that best accompany your meat or none at all.

In case you need a little extra guidance, here are my favorite combos.

  • Beef Roast and Salsa Verde
  • Pork Loin and BBQ Sauce
  • Chicken Breast and Masala Simmer Sauce
  • Chicken Breast and Cream of Mushroom Soup – you can even make your own cream of any soup.

These can be served on their own or used as toppings or fillings for such things as tacos, burritos, salads, tacos, nachos, pizza, sandwiches or tacos.

So instead of being in a dinner drought – consider spicing things up with an EASY slow-cooker combination.

DISCLAIMER: I use a digital slow-cooker that switches to warm automatically after the set time. I believe most, newer, slow cookers to be safe when left on all day while you leave the house.
