Okay To Not Be Okay

Something I’ve been thinking about lately…

I think it’s because we have this very visual social media world that bombards us with all the “happy moments” and even glamorizes the #momlife moments.

What about the unspoken moments?

The moments that aren’t post worthy?

My daughter was helping with the laundry and pulled out this shirt that I purchased from All Graced Up.

The words just jumped out at me “It’s OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY”

Let that just sink in for a moment…

I felt like God was speaking to me at that very moment. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

When I was a younger mama (not that I am old mind you, but I have more years of experience now, haha 😉 ) I had this unrealistic idea of what asking for help really meant so I pretty much always turned it down.

We can’t do it all alone, all by ourselves. And we weren’t created to do it all alone or all by ourselves.

We were created for community!

God gave us each other to speak truth and love into our hearts. He uses each of us to reaffirm and encourage one another.

Life is hard! But He knows this and that is why, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

I think this made more of an impact not just on me and my past experiences in my mama life, but the fact that my 13-year-old, teenage daughter, was holding this up (cue the tears and sniffles). I remember those teenage years. I remember that they were not the easiest to navigate.

So I’m praying for some extra grace for me so that I can pass that on to her as she navigates through all the ups and downs and roller coast of emotions that will come her way.

Lord give me strength!

Blessings,

Alaina
