Prepare Yourselves For The Perfect No-Bake Holiday Treat Solution

no-bake solutionCalling all non-bakers and moms who don’t have extra time to spend in the kitchen right now: I have the perfect no-bake holiday treat for you!

I stumbled upon this idea when my son was 2 and asked me on December 22nd what kind of cookies we were baking for Santa. As someone who doesn’t bake, several thoughts flooded my head:

  1. I have Oreos – Santa can have Oreos and milk at our house. (My 2 year old looked at me like I was crazy.)
  2. In actuality, how difficult is baking?
  3. I can follow a recipe.
  4. I have some baking “things” I received as shower gifts in 1999. They must be around here somewhere….

After locating my cookie sheets, mixing bowls, measuring cups, and a bag of chocolate chips (complete with recipe on the back), my little guy and I were ready to bake St. Nick the best cookies ever. Well, you know what is said about best laid plans – the cookies were like hockey pucks

Short on time and patience (and a desire to not send Santa to the dentist with a broken tooth), I decided it was time to grab my thinking cap and get creative with this Santa snack!

Bear in mind this was 2004, well before Pinterest was launched. So after much internet research I found THE no-bake holiday treat we were going to bake make for Santa!

Microwave fudge.

I promise, it’s easy AND delicious! (I have the batch of chocolate/peanut butter fudge pictured below in the refrigerator right now.) Over the past 13 years, I have gifted this fudge to friends and teachers, and I always have it 0n-hand for guests during the holiday season.
