Dust and thingsWhen I heard I was getting my chance to write my first review for a product from a company called Dust and Things I was  excited that I might be getting my house cleaned, or being sent some lovely new cleaning products. But Dust and Things isn’t what it seems. It is a UK based company (shout out to the Brits!) who make beautiful bespoke items, many of which that can be personalized. I had quite the dilemma trying to chose between the wooden cheese boards, slate cheese boards, wooden chopping boards, personalized picture frames AND jewelry.

Here is what they have to say about their company:

We believe that things should be far from ordinary.

We are a small team of professional designers and makers who love nothing more than turning your ideas into fabulous, one-of-a-kind gifts.

From our little workshop we make the most personal and unique gift ideas for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and loads more. Choose something truly original, maybe a personalised gift with a name or a message. The days of being lost for gift ideas are gone! Mother’s Day gifts, Valentine’s gifts, Father’s Day gifts or Christmas gifts, as a treat for your loved ones, or perhaps just yourself.

I finally settled on this sweet little cheeseboard. The thing that caught my eye about it was the hidden tools. I LOVE cheese but in some cruel twist of cheese loving fate I had no tools. That is no longer a factor holding back my cheese eating abilities. The board is make from high quality rubber wood and we had ours personalized because I am a hopeless romantic. The personalization is beautifully done and it looks so neat I have decided it will live on my countertop. The tools are well constructed and I can confirm they cut through a variety of cheeses like butter. Bravo.

The best thing about this company is their amazing customer service. I made a last minute decision to add on some chutney to my order (if you’ve never tried handmade British chutney this is THE place to start, they are delicious!) but to do this I had to contact Dust and Things because I had already processed my order. They got back to me within a few hours, which is no mean feat when you factor in the 8 hour time difference. The items landed on my doorstep just 7 days after ordering. They came from ENGLAND! It often takes more than 7 days for stuff to travel cross country here in the US. And the icing on the cake; this company offer FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING. Can you tell I love them? Have I ordered from them before? No. Would I order again? Most definitely. The personal touch, free shipping, quality of merchandise and awesome customer service make for a winning shopping experience where I didn’t have to move from my sofa. Good work Dust and Things. You officially have a new fan, and your autumn chutney is the chutney of champions. Please make huge jars of it!

Viv Jones
I am Viv, stay at home mom (mummy) to Edison who is 7 and Arlo who is 5. I am married to my best friend and university sweetheart Steve. In October 2014 we moved 5321 miles from our beautiful Victorian home in Sheffield, England to Anaheim Hills and are loving the wild adventure this move has turned our life into. I am so very grateful that this move has given me the opportunity to quit my kinder teacher role to stay home with my crazy whirlwinds and enjoy the adventures of modern motherhood. I love farmers markets with my little foodies, antique shops, restoring antique finds, reading, baking, eating out and trying not to spend everything we have in Target! Oh and chips. I LOVE chips (crisps for any Brits reading this). All the chips.
