We Love This Easy And Affordable DIY Foaming Hand Soap Recipe!

DIY Foaming Hand Soap RecipeWell believe it or not, making your own DIY foaming hand soap is actually quite easy. I used to be the type to buy all of the yummy foaming hand soap flavors from big chain stores before I learned how easy it was to make my own!

I have been making all the soap in our house for over 3 years now and the benefits are actually quite remarkable.

Not only do I save tons of money (I was spending $30-$40 every few months on name brand soaps), but my hands actually feel so much better now! As a mom and a doctor, I am frequently washing my hands. And with regular soap my hands would always be dry and cracking, especially during the winter.

Ever since making my own soap, I rarely have a problem with dry hands!

Now, I’m not going to lie and say the scents are exactly the same as store-bought soaps. But you can certainly customize this to your taste and I have no doubt you will find something you love!

Today I will share with you a foaming hand soap recipe with a sweet vanilla and orange scent.

It pairs well for just about any room in the house, so I thought it would be the perfect beginners recipe to introduce to you all!

Now, just a quick note on ingredients before we get started.

I personally use and love essential oils. but to be honest I do not pledge loyalty to any single brand. For me, what it usually comes down to is the price. So I want to let you know that you can actually find a lot of reasonably priced oils out there. Just be careful and try to buy organic if at all possible.

Some of my favorite inexpensive brands of essential oils are: Plant Therapy, AuraCacia, Now Foods, and Mountain Rose Herbs. Many of these brands can be bought at your local health food grocer such as Whole Foods or Sprouts. Many of the other ingredients you see listed here can also be bought at your local health food grocer as well.

Orange And Vanilla Foaming Hand Soap Recipe

Step 1: Open your hand soap dispenser and fill it 20% (1/5 of the way) with your castile soap.

Step 2: Next add 1 Tablespoon of fractionated coconut oil to the jar followed by 1 Teaspoon of vegetable glycerine.

Step 3: Now add 1/4 Teaspoon of Vitamin E oil followed by 10 drops each of Sweet Orange and Vanilla essential oils.

Step 4: Fill the remainder of the bottle with distilled water, leaving .5 inch of space at the top.

Step 5: Gently turn bottle up and down a few times to ensure all ingredients are properly mixed.

Step 6: Make sure your hands are wet first, use 2-4 pumps of soap, and wash away!

NOTE: The key to good foaming action is to have a good quality soap pump meant especially for foaming hand soap. Air will be introduced into the dispenser as it pumps thereby giving you lots of foam! This is why it is also important to leave a bit of space/air at the top and not fill the container completely!

Now tell me, was that easier than you thought?!

The great part is, you can completely customize this recipe to your taste by adding in different scent combinations. If you do not own essential oils, you can also choose to use a scented castile soap for even less of a hassle! Comment below if you have tried this recipe, I would love to hear your thoughts!
