skincare tips for busy moms

Moms are busy. Full stop. And sometimes as moms we start to prioritize things like skincare less, especially in busy seasons. I used to be the queen of using a quick wipe to sort of remove makeup before my head hit the pillow. Now, I am a big believer in taking 5 minutes for my skincare routine before bed. It has made such a difference for me and I wanted to share 3 skincare tips for busy moms with you!

Skincare Tip #1 : Wash your face before bed.

I know, I know. You’ve heard this before. But honestly? This one tip is one of the main things that really started to change my skin. I had the not-so-great habit of sleeping in my makeup and if I did ‘wash’ my face it was with a makeup remover wipe. Well, it turns out that actually doesn’t do a ton for cleansing. Simply washing your face before bed will help so much! It removes the makeup and dirt from your skin and allows the rest of your products to soak in better.

Skincare Tip #2 : Pick a serum.

There are so many serums on the market and it can feel overwhelming to pick the one that is right for you. If that is how you currently feel about that, I encourage you to ask your esthetician! They would love to give you some pointers to find the perfect serum for your skin. There are also some serums that everyone can benefit from! Here are a couple that I personally use and would recommend: Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid. Vitamin C helps to brighten the skin and reduce free radical damage. Hyaluronic Acid helps to deeply hydrate the skin. Both are great options if you are looking for a serum to try out! Serums can be pricier, so go with a company that doesn’t water down products (I am a big fan of Eminence Organics) so that you get the best bang for your buck.

Skincare Tip #3 : Wear a sunscreen.

Wearing an spf on your face is a super smart choice. Even on cloudy days! There are fantastic mineral sunscreen options or even tinted moisturizers that have SPF in them. SPF on your face helps to block the sun and some even have blue light (light from our devices) blocking technology which is really cool. This is especially important if you are wanting to avoid or reduce age spots and hyperpigmentation.

*One quick thing that I want to mention is that the sun is not horrible for you. Now listen, I am not saying to go out and lay in the sun for 8 hours. But what I am saying is that Vitamin D is super important for our immune systems and mental health. Being out in the sun for a bit each day is great for you! Just don’t forget spf on your face 😉
