Weekend Walks at Oak Canyon Nature Center – Anaheim
Spend a weekend morning on a naturalist-led hike through Oak Canyon. These hour-long walks explore the local plants, animals, and ecology, with a different theme each week. The hike wraps up at the Interpretive Center with a live animal demonstration.
Family Science Sunday: Climate Change at Marine Mammal Care Center – San Pedro

From the website: This free one-hour program invites families to explore ocean conservation and marine life through hands-on learning.
On August 3, dive into a variety of interactive experiments that help explain the science behind global warming and climate change.
Admission includes access to the full visitor experience, including patient viewing and interactive exhibits.

Hug & Groom Horses with Free Rein Foundation – Huntington Beach

From their website: Come learn, hug and groom rescue and therapy horses at Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center. There are normally 4-8 horses that participate in the event. You may meet playful mustangs, a feisty thoroughbred, or a big white mule.
All proceeds go to care and feeding of rescued horses.
Tickets are $25 each, children 2 and under are free. Water and snacks included.

Toro Nagashi Ceremony at the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego
From their website: Toro Nagashi (floating lanterns) is a ceremony to honor those who have passed. The floating lanterns commemorate loved ones and wish them peace. Guests will be able to float their candle-lit lanterns (LED candles) in the lower garden stream during the festival.

From their website: The Wings Over Camarillo Air Show features aerobatic flights from a variety of aircrafts, classic car show, hands-on exhibits in the STEM Pavilion, and more. Go early to see all the planes on display.
The STEM Pavilion highlights what’s new in aviation and aerospace. Families can see drones fly, robots in actions, learn how planes fly, create flying objects, and learn about programs in the area.
Airplane and helicopter rides are also available for purchase.
