OC Fair – Costa Mesa
Now through August 15 (Wednesdays through Sundays)
Pony rides, Explorium: Explore the Great Outdoors, arts exhibitions, animals exhibits, produce displays, live entertainment, carnival rides, carnival games, and more. This year’s OC Fair will be features COVID-safe social distancing measures, enhanced sanitizing, cash-free sales, and more safety considerations.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Limited capacity so buy them early. Masks are required inside OC Fair buildings. General (13-59) $12 on Weds-Fridays, $14 on Sat-Sunday, Senior (60+) $7, Youth (6-12) $7, Children 5 and younger are free. Fair parking is $10 per car.
Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience – Anaheim
Now through September 6
From their website: “Immerse yourself in the world of Vincent Van Gogh like you’ve never experienced before. Beyond Van Gogh is a rich and unique multimedia experience, taking the viewer on a journey through over 300 iconic artworks including instantly-recognizable classics “The Starry Night”, “Sunflowers”, and “Cafe Terrace at Night”, now freed from their frames. Set to a symphonic score and using the artist’s own dreams, thoughts, and words to drive the experience as a narrative, Van Gogh’s art comes to life by appearing and disappearing, flowing across multiple surfaces and heightening the senses with their immense detail. Guests will leave with a new appreciation of this prolific artist’s stunning work.”
Masks required for unvaccinated guests. Times ticket sales, floor arrow markings, hand sanitizing stations, and contact-less transactions to allow for COVID-safe social distancing. Ticket prices starting at: Adults ($36.99), Children 5-15 ($24.99), Student/Senior/Military ($32.99). Children 4 and under are free.
MainPlace Mall Art Walk – Santa Ana
August 14 and the second Saturday in September and October
From the press release: “Each Art Walk event will feature an artist creating an original work of art during the event as well as other local artists offering live demos while showcasing their work. There will also be a talented caricaturist, face painting, live music, and free themed workshops. During the workshops, children will be able to decorate a back-to-school pencil case (August), a nature-inspired drawstring backpack (September), and a 4×4 canvas painting celebrating Hispanic heritage month (October).”
Each event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

OC Parks Sunset Summer Cinema
August 6 and every Friday night during the summer until September 10
From their website: “Grab a drink and a snack and get cozy for a screening under the stars at Craig Regional Park, Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Yorba Regional Park and Mason Regional Park. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy recent favorites and popular classics throughout the summer.”
The series includes classic and more recent family crowd pleasers like THE LION KING, THE MIGHTY DUCKS, STAR WARS: RISE OF SKYWALKER, and HOOK.
Free Admission and free parking starting at 6:00pm (screening starts approximately at 8:00pm after sundown). Food trucks and booths will have bites and beverages available for purchase at each location. Events take place outdoors and will be held in accordance with the most current guidance from State and local health agencies.
OC Parks Summer Concert Series
August 5 and every Thursday during the summer until August 26
From their website: “Enjoy live music under the summer sky at Craig Regional Park, Mason Regional Park and Irvine Regional Park. The concert series features fan favorite local artists including Uptown Funk, Surf’s Up, The Fenians, Queen Nation, and Tijuana Dogs.”
Admission and parking are free. Open to the public of all ages. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for guests to enjoy the food trucks and to save their spot on the grass for the concert. All concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m. June 2021 events take place outdoors and will be held in accordance with the most current guidance from State and local health agencies.
