If you’re one of those mommas who love to shake up your Christmas tree decorations every year, then look no further! I have scoured Pinterest for inspiration so you don’t have to. These ideas for fun Christmas tree themes will get your creative juices flowing so you can have a different tree look every year…if you’re into that! : )

Merry Grinchmas

The Grinch is a Christmas staple and is guaranteed to put a smile on anyone who gets to see your tree! This one is by far my favorite find – I had no idea they sold bendable Christmas trees. Now you’re ready to turn your house into Whoville!

Decorate your tree with Grinch themed ornaments, ribbon, and decor. You can even have his hand sticking out of your tree, trying to steal your decorations. But don’t worry he won’t ruin your Christmas! Complete your tree with a couple of Whoville street signs and you’ll be on your way to becoming a true Who!

Fun idea: dress up like Who’s from Whoville for your Christmas picture!

Disney’s Favorite Mice

That’s right, you can’t go wrong with Mickey & Minnie, especially if you and your family are Disney fanatics! If you don’t want to go shopping a ton, this idea is fairly easy to do. Use some of the red and gold ornaments you may already have. Then, add in some fun mouse ear ornaments – they have a bunch at the Disneyland Resort shops if you want to go straight to the source! Put those gloves around the tree and stick some mouse ears or a Santa hat on top and voila! You can also wrap your tree in polka ribbon to give it a unique and fun touch.

Fun idea: Add a Santa hat to your Disney mouse ears and use them as decorations around your house to keep the theme going!

Marvel Universe

This tree is so colorful and entertaining, your little superheroes are going to love it! Use some old party masks and decor – if you don’t have any, Party City has it all year round! The color scheme on this tree is so vivid you really can’t go wrong when adding ornaments! Use em’ all!

If your little one is a superhero fan – make it fun and have them bring out their action figures to put in and around the tree. This will make it an interactive decoration that they’ll enjoy all through the season.

Fun idea: instead of 12 days of Christmas movies, do 12 days of Marvel movies to match your tree!

Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory

A chocolate-themed tree you say? I mean, what kid doesn’t love chocolate! Don’t freak out, it doesn’t have to be real chocolate on the tree! Although that would make for a fun after dinner treat.

This one might be even more colorful than our Marvel tree; and rightfully so! There’s nothing more exciting and joyful than Willy Wonka’s factory and this tree certainly captures it all. From golden tickets to peppermint sticks, your little one won’t want to take his eyes off this tree.

Fun idea: Have your kids help you make the Wonka bar decorations – it can be a fun craft for the whole family!

Something for Mom

If your kiddos are a little older, maybe it’s time you do a theme that fits you! If you’re a bit OCD like me, I like everything in my house to match. And let me tell you, as festive as all those colors are, boy do they clash with my living room!

This final tree will keep the feng shui going in your home while adding an elegant touch. The possibilities are endless with this neutral theme. You can mix a few different colors, add in a bit of nature, or just keep it simple with a mono-tone tree. Either way this one is sure to be one of your favorites.

Fun Idea: If you’re adding in a bit of nature, have your kids pick out an animal ornament or two to put on the tree.

I hope these fun Christmas tree themes inspired you to get your Christmas spirit on! Let’s get decorating!
