Flawless by maurices
We are excited to introduce to you Flawless by maurices! Maurices are a hometown retailer that brings affordable, versatile, and flattering fashions to real women … and their beauty line is following suit. We got our hands on some of the key pieces and we got to use them in a couple of looks. Believe me, when I say, you are going to want to head to your local maurices to try this awesome new range of makeup.
The first thing you’ll notice is how beautiful and expensive this range looks. Attention to detail where packaging is concerned has clearly been a focus. We love the rose gold and glitter accents, the magnetic closure on the palettes and the softness of the brushes.
We tried out a daytime and an evening look using our Flawless by maurices makeup and we were really happy with how they turned out. The eye products are easy to use, pigmented and blend well. Most importantly for us though is that they were suitable for both our skin tones. As a woman of colour, it can be hard to find mainstream brands who offer products I can use, at affordable prices. Flawless by maurices have done it!
The Looks
Daytime using Flawless by maurices
Maria created a daytime look using her Flawless by maurices makeup. Maria is wearing no foundation in her makeup photo – she was able to create a flawless look using the bronzer, blusher, and highlighter from the flawless blush, bronzer, and highlight palette.
The colours in the palette were able to warm her face up and give her the colour she wanted without looking heavily made up. A must for many moms! For her eyes, she used the Flawless Shimmer eyeshadow in shade shimmer brown and a slick of the Flawless mascara to open up her eyes and make that shadow pop! I love a shimmer for daytime and Maria is rocking it here! We kept the lip simple with the Flawless lip crayon in Nude.
Evening/date night look using Flawless by maurices
Viv used Flawless by maurices products to create an evening look. You can check out our Facebook live here to watch this look being created. Because Viv has a darker skin tone than Maria, and because it was an evening look, she used her own foundation. However, the Flawless by maurices face palette has the perfect bronzer for darker skin tones which made the rest of the face a breeze! We loved the pink blush which comes in a huge 0.15oz pan. Viv used the brown, cheek and eye palette (which contains a staggering 16 powder items and 2 brushes!) to create the majority of her look. The palette is very well thought out. It has 2 colours and a clear wax for brows, 2 bronzers, a blush and a highlighter for cheeks. For eyes there are 5 ligher coloured shadows and 4 dark colours.
Viv created a subtle smoky eye using the Flawless by maurices shadows. Like Maria, Viv used the lip crayon in the shade nude, but to vamp it up a little more she topped the lip crayon with the gorgeous lip gloss in the shade ruby. The lipgloss has a very subtle shimmer which is so flattering. We were even able to use the darker eyeshadow as an eyeliner thanks to the 5 piece brush set and a spritz of water!
We love the way this range has been curated and we’re excited to see what Flawless by maurices adds to the range next. The beautiful packages mean it makes great gifts and it will be loved by teens and adults alike. We’d like to see an eyeliner next – hint hint!
