Dr. Carlos Sobral is a primary care physician and his life in medicine started in La Habra and he has been practicing in Orange County for over 20 years. He became progressively interested in cholesterol, heart, and stroke risk and his interests took him to advanced lipid testing and analysis.

OBGYN

Dr. Diana Tran-Kim is an Ob-Gyn physician and grew up near Montreal, Canada and moved to Texas where she attended high school and college. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Biology and French from Houston Baptist University. She is fluent in French and Vietnamese.

Dr. Tran-Kim attended medical school in West Virginia at WVSOM and did her Obstetric/Gynecology residency training in Brooklyn, NY. She continued to work in Manhattan, NY as staff faculty at New York University and Lenox Hill hospitals. Dr. Tran-Kim’s medical background is founded on the principles of osteopathic medicine in which the belief of helping the whole body to be in good health in order to maximize the body’s own healing is key.

She participated in a documentary about pregnancy along with thirteen mothers called 40 Weeks, which premiered at the Angelika Theater in New York City, and is participating in the follow-up documentary, One.”

Therapists

Jason Pon is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California and has worked for about a decade as a counselor in various settings while building experience working with young adults, teenagers, children, and families.

His practice interests involve working with individuals, families, adolescents, children, and couples struggling with depression, anxiety and stress, addictions, body image and identity, trauma, and intimacy and relationship issues including family conflicts, divorce, reunification, and parenting/communication issues. Additional areas of interest include problems individually and in relationships impacted by chemical dependency and addiction problems, self image issues, trauma and abuse, and transgenerational patterns.

Jason’s approach to treatment is based on Family Systems work building insight into the cross-generational emotional and behavioral patterns that impact relationships and one’s own individual well-being in addition to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy including trauma-oriented work, adapting a solutions-oriented approach to help clients build on their strengths, and discovering healthier and more effective ways of managing daily life stressors while building towards personal growth and wellness.

When not working, Jason enjoys recreational sports in addition to broadening his knowledge of the recent developments in technology, scientific discovery, and media entertainment.

Heidi is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist earning her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and has worked over 15 years as a counselor.

Her practice involves working with individuals, families, children and adolescents struggling with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety and stress, grief and loss, PTSD, chronic pain, relationship issues, family conflicts and parenting including communication issues and phase of life issues.

Heidi’s approach to treatment is based on helping one resolve their current problems and long-standing patterns through self-awareness and positive change.

Her treatment philosophy is centered in the Mindfulness – Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach involving drawing from one’s strengths in order to create change and positive healthy coping skills, changing old maladaptive behavior patterns (broken records) and developing healthy new ones, and mindfully improving awareness of the mind and body connection.

Therapy can be short-term, focusing on specific issues, or long-term, addressing more complex issues and ongoing personality growth.

When not working, Heidi enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Amber is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who works with individuals including children, adolescents and adults. She earned her Master’s degree from California State University in 2015 and has worked as a licensed therapist for over 4 years. She has many years of experience helping clients struggling with issues ranging from anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance abuse, PTSD, grief counseling, men’s and women’s issues, stress management, OCD, bipolar disorder and problems in communication.
Her therapy approach is strength-based aimed to empower and motivate individuals. She has been trained in a variety of approaches incorporating mindfulness based therapy techniques and Cognitive Behavioral therapy. She has also had extensive training in Narrative therapy which is founded on the premise that “the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem.” Emphasis in treatment is to help individuals increase a greater sense of self-awareness, mind-body connection and support personal growth. This approach includes developing an improved understanding of current coping mechanisms and behavioral patterns to help identify when feeling stuck. She also has experience working with young adults struggling with substance abuse and skilled at providing relapse prevention tools. Her work with children and teens initiates help to resolve problems at home or their school environment. Length of therapy is based on each individual needs and goals.
When she is not working, Amber enjoys spending time with her family, being in the outdoors and listening to music. Amber also loves to read a good book whenever she can.
